From a blank canvas to a new standard.
Victoria Park Racing began with a simple idea: to create an exceptional environment for racehorses. For owner and racing enthusiast Reg Flannery, it was a vision that had been many years in the making. Having owned and raced horses over the years, Reg had long dreamed of owning a property where horses could be trained, rested and cared for in an environment designed around their individual needs.
In 2024, that opportunity arrived. Reg purchased 200 acres of rural land at Nindooinbah, near Beaudesert in South East Queensland. The property was a blank canvas, but it had something special. Kerry Creek runs through the land, supported by six dams and bore water, creating an abundant and reliable water supply. With open space, established trees and room to grow, the property had all the foundations for something exceptional.
The next step was finding the right person to help bring the vision to life.
A shared vision
Reg approached Gold Coast trainer Jay Bellamy, who he had known for several years, with an opportunity to build something different. Jay visited the property with his partner, Corinne Mills, and immediately saw its potential.
Together, they began developing Victoria Park into the purpose-built racing and spelling facility it is today. A 1,350-metre all-weather training track. A 22-box stable complex. Horse treadmill, horse walker, round yard, swimming dam, spelling paddocks, staff accommodation and the infrastructure required to support a high-quality training operation.
Every element has been carefully considered.
The story is just
beginning
Victoria Park Racing is the result of a long-held dream, a shared belief in doing things properly and a genuine passion for horses. Today, that vision has become a purpose-built home for training, racing and spelling. And while a great deal has already been built, the story is only just beginning. We look forward to seeing where the next chapter takes us.
